Frequently Asked Questions

  • How is it permeable?

Dependant on what stone choice is chosen for the individual project, generally the stone size will be a mix of between 3-6mm. Once cleaned and dried, the stone is then bound with Creative Resin Bound/Bonded gravel Resin, and once cured the stone size gives optimised strength but allows water to permeate through the voids of the stone bonded together. It is alos very important that a suitable sub-base is installed. The sub-base will have to comply with SUDS and british standards. Once this is in place, the Creative Resin Bound/Bonded gravel Resin system is fully permeable.

  • What depth is it normally laid at?

The depth of Creative Resin Bound/Bonded gravel Permeable Paving will vary for each project, this depends on the type of application and the size of the aggregate used. Typically the depth of the surface course is approximately 15-20mm layed onto a prepared and solid sub-base.

  • How long will it last?

Creative Resin Bound/Bonded gravel Permeable Paving comes with a 10 year guarantee, however the resin technology suggests it will last in excess of 25 years.

  • How long does it take to cure?

Creative Resin Bound/Bonded gravel Permeable Paving will be suitable for use after 4-6 hours for pedestrian traffic applications, and 12-16 hours for vehicular traffic. For heavy use, 24 hours would be ideal where possible to ensure a fully cured surface. These times can be doubled in colder laying temperatures ie winter.

  • Is it easy to clean?

Yes. Creative Resin Bound/Bonded gravel Permeable Paving is very low maintenance and easy to look after. It can be cleaned with a power wash or simply a stiff broom to sweep away any leaves. We recommend sweeping leaves to prevent vegetation growth or staining. If staining or growth appears and if a driveway is north facing, we recommend cleaning with diluted bleach to bring these areas back to brand new.  For general cleaning we recommend using a light detergent such as washing up liquid to bring the stone back to brand new.
